How To Make Cafe Latte
Cafe Latte has 4:1 ratio of milk to espresso. Most professionals create their Cafe Latte by using 10 ounces of steamed milk, and 2.5 ounces of espresso. There is also a certain amount of foam added.
However, you can make this at home too, with less expensive equipment. Here is what you do (assuming you have an espresso maker with a steam wand).
- Make two shots of espresso - about 2.5 ounces.
- Steam 10 ounces of milk to about 150 degrees.
- Use a stainless steel pitcher to steam your milk, using a steam wand. To create froth, raise the tip of the wand just under the surface in the pitcher.
- Pour hot milk in a 15 ounce cup until 3/4 full.
- Pour the espresso shot into the steamed milk.
- Dust with a little bit of ground chocolate on top.
